Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Certified Peer Support Specialist, where your lived experience and compassionate nature will empower individuals navigating mental health, behavioral health, and addiction challenges. In this vital role, you will serve as a relatable guide, fostering hope and resilience through peer-led support, crisis intervention, and mentoring. Your authentic connection will help clients build recovery skills, manage crises effectively, and access essential resources within a supportive environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while advancing your career in behavioral health. Duties (Peer Supports) Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation among clients. Assist individuals during mental health or addiction crises through crisis intervention and crisis management techniques. Conduct behavioral health assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized support plans. Utilize motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive behavioral changes and goal setting. Offer mentoring and emotional support to help clients develop coping skills and resilience. Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care and document interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately. Educate clients about available mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social services, and community resources to promote recovery. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Complete Assessments Deliver Treatment individually or in groups Provide Psychoeducation, addiction counseling, relapse prevention, etc. Qualifications Valid certification as a Peer Support Specialist or equivalent credential recognized in behavioral health fields. Lived experience with mental health challenges or addiction recovery that aligns with the role's requirements. Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health principles. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically and motivate others. Experience in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work, or related fields is preferred. Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and care coordination. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
