We focus on helping clients create measurable behavioral change through structured, evidence-informed care that addresses both mental health and substance use challenges. This role is primarily designed for a clinician who will conduct: ASAM evaluations / substance use assessments Intake evaluations Relapse prevention and outpatient substance use treatment Secondarily, clinicians who are interested will have opportunities to receive additional training and expand into broader therapy work involving: ADHD Anxiety Depression Trauma using the Mental Map Method™ framework. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians seeking structured clinical growth, mentorship, and specialization within a supportive practice environment.
This Role IS for:
Clinicians who want to become highly effective in assessment and treatment planning Clinicians interested in substance use treatment and relapse prevention work Therapists who value structure, mentorship, and ongoing development Clinicians who enjoy combining clinical assessment with practical intervention Clinicians who want steady referrals without needing to market themselves Clinicians interested in eventually expanding into ADHD, trauma, anxiety, or depression treatment Primary Responsibilities Conduct ASAM evaluations and substance use intake assessments Provide outpatient relapse prevention counseling and follow-up treatment Develop treatment recommendations and level-of-care determinations Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Coordinate with referral sources and treatment teams when appropriate Participate in supervision, training, and case consultation Optional Growth Opportunities Clinicians interested in expanding beyond substance use treatment may receive training in: ADHD treatment Anxiety and depression treatment Trauma-informed care and EMDR concepts Executive functioning coaching Mental Map Method™ structured treatment frameworks Compensation Compensation varies based on the type of clinical service provided, licensure level, and experience. Intake Assessments:
approximately $100 per completed evaluation Ongoing Outpatient Substance Use Treatment /
Relapse Prevention Sessions:
approximately $55-$60 per clinical hour Additional compensation opportunities available for clinicians who expand into broader mental health therapy services and specialization areas over time This structure allows clinicians to maintain flexibility while developing specialized assessment and treatment skills within the practice. Additional growth opportunities available through expanded clinical roles and specialization. Schedule & Time Commitment Approximately 5-15 hours per week to start Opportunity to grow caseload over time if desired Evening and/or weekend availability preferred In-office position located in Alexandria, Virginia Availability Requirement Available to work in-office in Alexandria, VA on at least one of the following days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday What You'll Receive Steady referrals and administrative support Structured onboarding and clinical guidance Training opportunities in substance use and mental health treatment Supportive team environment focused on growth and quality care Clear pathway toward increased specialization and leadership opportunities Requirements Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, MFT, Psychology, or related field LMSW, LGPC, Resident in Counseling, CSAC, or fully licensed equivalent preferred Experience conducting assessments or working in substance use treatment preferred Comfortable working with adolescents and/or adults Strong organizational and documentation skills Willingness to work in-office in Alexandria, VA Interest in ongoing professional development and training Work Structure 1099 independent contractor role Flexible scheduling with autonomy over availability Structured treatment framework with ongoing support and mentorship This Role May Not Be the
