Our prevention, intervention and treatment programs spread the message that there is hope and that substance misuse and addiction are preventable and treatable. The Incumbent's primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge acquired through an advanced degree program; and requires the incumbent to consistently exercise discretion and judgment in applying their knowledge. Under general supervision of the VP of Clinical Services, provides screening, assessment, and referral for patients engaged in services at Lexington Medical Center's Emergency Department, Inpatient Services, and emPATH clinic who may identify mental illness, substance use disorder, and/or co-occurring disorders. Acts in accordance with LRADAC and LMC policies and procedures. Provides support to patients engaged through Uplift Lexington and Lexington County Emergency Management Services. The selected applicant must pass the Lexington County Sherriff's Department background check and be approved for ED access at Lexington Medical Center. •This position is housed within the Medical Social Services Department at Lexington Medical Center. Position Logistics Full-time, 37.5-hour work week (5-days) Routinely 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shifts Monday-Friday, some evening hours arerequired, flex schedule as approved by supervisor. We are open to hiring asa ClinicalCounselor I, II, III or IV. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Conducts screenings/assessments as requested by LMC Emergency Department, Inpatient services, andemPATHclinic. Provides individualized therapeutic and case management services foridentifiedpatients currently enrolled in LMC's ED, Inpatient services, andemPATHclinic, to include referrals for other supportive services/resources. Provides case consultation, staffing, and coordination of care between LRADAC, Lexington Medical Center, and Uplift Lexington/Lexington County EMS. Participates in regular clinical supervision. Marginal Duties Attends all required meetings (LMC, LRADAC, Uplift Lexington) and training sessions. Other duties as assigned. Ability to provide coverage for other program areas if necessary Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a human services type fieldrequired. Experience providing substance use disorder treatment preferred. Licensure and/or certification are highly desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations If not independently licensed, Certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) through Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) or able to complete the certification process within the required timeframe.
