Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or Intern - Substance Use Disorder Services 5266

Performs minimally complex social service work. Responsible for authorizing services, oversight of services and evaluating the effectiveness of authorized services. Works under moderate supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides substance abuse focused psychosocial rehabilitation to clients authorized for such services.

Examples of work performed

• Assesses client's needs and performs an Initial Assessment and Sober plan with client.
• Provides substance abuse education.
• Provides Crisis Prevention and Management services when needed.
• Provides Individual/Family Substance Abuse counseling as identified and outlined in client's recovery plan.
• Facilitates Relapse/Recovery groups.
• Facilitates 12 step dual recovery program engagement group.
• Will assist in drug/alcohol screenings as required.
• Provides additional services that are comprehensive, integrated, sequenced and coordinated with treatment services and that facilitate stable recovery and preservation of the client's family.
• Will provide transportation to/from services as needed.
