Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides substance use disorder counseling services under approved supervision within Conscious Healing's trauma-first treatment environment. This role supports participant care through counseling, group facilitation, treatment planning, timely documentation, and active participation in supervision, skill development, and interdisciplinary coordination.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:
    Education requirements consistent with Virginia CSAC eligibility standards required.
      Credential:
      Current Virginia CSAC registration in good standing required, with ongoing compliance with all Board supervision requirements.
        Experience:
        Prior experience in behavioral health, recovery support, case coordination, or substance use disorder services preferred.
          Compliance:
          Knowledge of trauma-first care, participant rights, confidentiality, ethical practice, DBHDS standards, and documentation expectations required.
            Development Skills:
            Strong communication, organization, teachability, documentation, and follow-through required.
              Credential Maintenance:
              All required registrations, supervision logs, training, screenings, and competency documentation must remain current, verifiable, and in good standing always.
              DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
              • Provide substance use disorder counseling services under supervision, including individual and group services within approved scope.
              • Facilitate trauma-first, clinically appropriate groups and structured recovery-focused interventions that support participant progress.
              • Complete biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation within established timeframes.
              • Maintain an assigned caseload and provide participant support, engagement follow-up, and care coordination as directed.
              • Monitor attendance, participation, relapse risk, safety concerns, and barriers to care, and communicate or escalate concerns promptly.
              • Participate fully in required supervision sessions, case reviews, development plans, and corrective coaching activities.
              • Coordinate with supervisors, therapists, case managers, peers, medical providers, and admissions staff to support participant care continuity.
              • Conduct participant orientation to treatment expectations, structure, and recovery goals.
              • Document services with accuracy, medical necessity, timeliness, and alignment with credentialing, payer, and internal standards.
              • Participate in case staffing, treatment team meetings, interdisciplinary communication, L10 meetings, and discharge planning activities.
              • Support crisis response, safety planning, mandated reporting, and serious incident follow-up as directed.
              • Promote trauma-first care, participant rights, confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all clinical interactions.
              Pay:
              $26.50 - $31.25 per hour
