The ideal candidate will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders in a clinical setting. Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions
  • Implement case management strategies to support clients in their recovery journey
  • Utilize clinical counseling techniques to address substance abuse issues
  • Employ cognitive behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis in treatment sessions
  • Collect and maintain accurate client data for treatment evaluation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mental health professionals, hospitals, and PTSD care providers Co-facilitates process-based substance abuse treatment group sessions.
Assists with keeping record of client's completion of required assignments including step work, journal, and outside meetings. Assists with administering urine analysis screens and breathalyzer test. Assists with maintaining record of attendance for each client. Selects and recommends new instructional materials and programs for use in facility programs. Attends staff meetings, treatment team meetings, clinical trainings, and supervision meetings as required. Keeps current with knowledge, availability, and quality of community resources and individual profession trends. Maintains knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse Requirements
  • Possess a CSAC
  • Certification or licensure in substance abuse counseling
  • Proficiency in ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation
  • Experience in mental health counseling and trauma-informed care
  • Strong understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
