We are looking for a full-time Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to supports individuals in recovery or SUD treatment in achieving their vocational goals. The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will provide job placement assistance, making sure they receive training, guidance, and employer connections needed to secure meaningful employment. They will work to address and reduce the stigma that surrounds SUD in the workplace by promoting inclusive hiring practices, advocating for fair employment opportunities and educating employers on those individuals in recovery. Then Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor will help and assist with all individuals with an SUD who require these services in our region and not just those at ACASA with an
SUD. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE

- Use of social networking in placement and job search;
- Internet research strategies and online job search;
- Workforce development programs;
- Navigation and referrals for community resources;
- Marketing and public relations;
- Creation of resumes and guidance;
- Techniques in participant placement and job development;
- Interviewing techniques and strategies;
- Employment opportunities and local job market trends;
- Business engagement and employer relations;
- Utilize OASAS Learning Platform;
- Employment and labor laws and regulations;
- Provide comprehensive support to those in SUD treatment or recovery, ensuring successfully obtaining and retaining employment aligned with their person centered and documented employment goals.
- Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor activities will include (1) job development and placement support, (2) collaboration and industry engagement, (3) core responsibilities such as individual and group counseling; assisting in identifying, developing, and pursuing person centered employment goals; and conduct employment readiness assessments, (4) job development and technical assistance interactions; and (5) flexible and inclusive support.

EXPERIENCE
Vocational Rehabilitation and Social Services Certifications preferred; Qualified Health Professional, QHP, such as RN or CASAC, with a master's degree and one year experience, or a Bachelor's degree and three years experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
