Job Description

Experienced VRC | Eastern Washington | Self-Insured Claims Bock Consulting is looking to add two experienced Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to our team. We have an established referral stream and active vocational caseloads available, so qualified counselors can step in and begin working on claims immediately. We are an established vocational rehabilitation and nurse case management firm serving Washington State self-insured employers. Since 2003, we have built our reputation on practical judgment, strong communication, high-quality reports, and steady relationships with claim managers, attorneys, employers, medical providers, and injured workers. Many of our staff have been with Bock Consulting for years, and we are hiring now to support upcoming retirements and ensure a smooth transition for our clients and team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for counselors who understand Washington workers' compensation, know how to manage a vocational caseload, and can produce clear, defensible work with independence and professionalism. The Work You will handle vocational services on Washington State workers' compensation claims, including: Conducting initial vocational evaluations and explaining the vocational process to injured workers; Completing vocational assessments and employability analyses; Preparing labor market surveys, transferable skills assessments, job analyses, and assessment closing reports; Developing vocational rehabilitation plans when retraining is appropriate; Communicating regularly with claim managers, medical providers, employers, attorneys, and injured workers; Managing your caseload with independence, professionalism, and sound judgment. Experience with self-insured claims is preferred, but not required. Experience with Washington State L&I vocational rules and procedures is important. Who We Are Looking For The right person is an experienced VRC who is dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable working independently while still being part of a great collaborative team.
You should be someone who:
Has strong writing skills; Understands the importance of timely, well-supported vocational recommendations; Can communicate clearly with claim managers, workers, employers, physicians, and attorneys; Is comfortable managing deadlines and competing priorities; Uses good judgment and professional discretion; Works well with a small team that values collaboration and follow-through. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree; Current CRC, CDMS, or ABVE certification is strongly preferred. We will also consider candidates with substantial Washington vocational rehabilitation intern experience who are actively working toward certification and are prepared to manage work with increasing independence. Residence in eastern Washington, with the ability to attend in-person meetings, medical appointments, and employer site visits. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Windows-based systems. Compensation and Benefits At Bock Consulting, VRC compensation is based on a percentage of revenue generated. Experienced VRCs can expect annual compensation of $100,000 or more, depending on revenue generated, productivity, experience, and caseload management. Candidates who are still pursuing certification and working as vocational rehabilitation Interns can expect annual compensation in the $50,000 to $60,000 range, depending on experience, work performed, and caseload development. Our compensation structure ties earnings directly to the work performed, allowing experienced and productive counselors to benefit from their efficiency, professional expertise, and ability to manage an active caseload.
