$24 hourly, Full-time, includes holiday coverage and once a month on-call rotationWHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT YOUTH ADVOCATE?
You bring a trauma-informed approach to working with families impacted by domestic violence. You have case management experience in crisis or high-needs environments. You possess a general understanding of youth mental health and supportive interventions. You thrive in active, fast-paced settings and juggle multiple priorities effectively. You communicate clearly, build strong community connections, and stay well organized. You're flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work varying schedules based on program needs. You are Spanish/English bilingual speaking to best support our clients.HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As a Youth Advocate, you play a vital role in empowering young people to thrive and heal. In this position, you will organize and coordinate youth programs and activities for youth residing at De Colores and in the surrounding community. You'll provide supportive services and case management to youth survivors and at-risk youth, helping them build safety, confidence, and essential life skills. Provide individualized, community-based supportive services and case management to at-risk youth in the community and youth residing at the De Colores shelter. Coordinate and facilitate De Colores Youth Leadership Workshops, both onsite at the shelter and in community settings. Develop and implement educational and prevention strategies that address the needs of youth and strengthen community awareness. Design, lead, and administer meaningful educational and support groups for at-risk youth. Research and identify community-based activities and services that De Colores youth and at-risk youth can access and benefit from. Serve as an active and engaged member of the De Colores team, participating in program activities, staff and clinical meetings, planning, and collaborative problem-solving. Maintain accurate and timely client records for all services provided. Complete required training courses within established time frames. Support program initiatives and organizational goals by contributing to meetings, planning processes, and special activities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card, CPR and First Aid. Possess a valid driver's license and ability to be insured under automobile insurance policy. Must be 21 years of age per contractual and shelter requirements.BENEFITS
