Youth Mentor Reach Family Services Phoenix, AZ 85015 Posted 19 days Company Description Since 2015, Reach Family Services, Inc. has supported families raising children with behavioral and emotional needs across Maricopa County. We create compassionate environments where youth can build resilience, confidence, and essential life skills. Our programs include youth mentorship, family support partnerships, group sessions, and community events designed to strengthen families and empower young people. About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Youth Mentor to provide individualized and group mentoring to youth ages 5-17 enrolled in our behavioral health program. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people grow emotionally, socially, and academically through structured, community-based activities. Youth Mentors serve as positive role models, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to helping youth build healthy coping skills and confidence. What You'll Do Provide one-on-one and group mentoring focused on life skills, emotional wellness, and positive behavior Facilitate activities that support social skills, emotional regulation, and personal development Engage youth in constructive sessions that promote academic success and healthy peer interactions Collaborate with families and staff to support individualized goals Monitor and document behavioral progress (progress notes, support plans, monthly summaries) Use positive conflict‑management techniques to support youth during challenges Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment Organize community-based outings and enrichment activities Travel throughout the Greater Phoenix Area to provide services in homes, offices, and community settings (mileage reimbursement provided) Complete all documentation accurately and on time
Schedule:
16-20 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday evenings (approx. 3-9 PM), with occasional Saturdays. Mandatory staff meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Occasional opportunities for additional hours during special events. Required Qualifications Experience working with children or adolescents (education, childcare, or social services) Strong communication skills and the ability to engage youth and families empathetically Energetic, patient, and adaptable in dynamic environments Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, registration, and full coverage insurance 39‑month driving record Negative TB test Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card Current CPR certification In-person First Aid training High school diploma, sealed transcript, or GED 21 years of age or older Ability to commit to 16-20 hours weekly (afternoons, some weekends, mandatory Thursday meetings) Basic computer proficiency Experience or interest in working with youth ages 5-17 Preferred Qualifications Background in social work, education, behavioral health, or related fields Knowledge of community resources Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Strong professionalism, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills Benefits Competitive hourly pay, $17.00-$20.00 DOE Flexible schedule Holiday pay (10 recognized holidays) PTO/Sick time (40 vacation hours annually for years 1-3; 48 hours of sick time) Mileage reimbursement Anniversary PTO gifts at 7 and 12 years Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth and families Join Our Mission If you're passionate about helping young people grow and thrive, we'd love to meet you.
