Through programs centered on life skills, self-development, and emotional wellness, we empower families to thrive and achieve lasting transformation. Our services include youth mentorship, family support partnerships, and group programs with several special events that cater to our community's needs. Role Description We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time Youth Mentor to join our team. This role works directly with youth ages 5-17 enrolled in our behavioral health program and provides individualized and group-based mentoring. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships, strengthening emotional and social development, and encouraging healthy coping strategies through structured, community-based activities. Youth Mentors serve as role models by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to helping youth build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily responsibilities include conducting mentoring sessions that guide youth in developing positive life skills, emotional wellness, and positive behaviors. Additionally, you will also engage youth in constructive sessions designed to promote social skills, academic success, and emotional well-being, while collaborating closely with families and staff to create strategies tailored to each child's unique needs. This role requires frequent travel throughout the Greater Phoenix Area, as services may be provided in homes, agency offices, and community settings. Reliable transportation is essential, and mileage reimbursement is provided. Additional responsibilities include facilitating recreational activities, providing educational assistance, and organizing community-based outings. You will also be responsible for completing documentation accurately and on time to maintain compliance with agency and health plan requirements. The position requires working a minimum of 16-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday evenings (roughly 3-9 PM), with occasional Saturdays as needed, and attending mandatory staff meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. While this role is part-time, there are occasional chances to pick up extra hours for special events or program needs. Required Qualifications Reliable Transportation, Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Registration, and Full Coverage Insurance 39 Month Driving Record Negative TB Test Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card Valid CPR Certification Valid In-person First Aid Training High School Diploma, Sealed High School Transcript, or GED 21 years of age or older Ability to commit to a minimum of 16-20 hours weekly (afternoons, weekends, and mandatory Thursday sessions). Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication Experience or interest in working with youth in the age group of 5-17 years of age.
