Job Description

MELA Counseling Services is looking for a Full-time Counselor to join our team in our Montebello, CA location.
PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE EITHER
a REGISTERED or
CERTIFIED SUD COUNSELOR EXPERIENCE WITH ADOLESCENTS IS REQUIRED.
This position will work with adults and adolescents.
Required Qualifications:
Registered or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor from any of the following disciplines:
CAADE, CCAPP, or CADTP Required Duties, Skills:
  • Coordination and delivery of individual and group sessions that focus on substance use prevention, harm reduction and treatment education. Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Learn and conduct ASAM assessments as needed.
  • Conduct brief screening for SUD services
  • Perform detailed work and monitor for errors
  • Document care notes in timely manner within 72 hours according to compliance standards
  • Work as a member of a team
  • Work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Remain abreast of changes and updates within the substance use field that would be of benefit to the substance use programs and their respective clients.
  • Ensure that client files remain in alignment with contractual standards.
  • Provide on-going case coordination of all clients
  • GED or high school diploma required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel computer skills
Recommended Skills:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of Twelve-step programs and principles.

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
