Residential Youth Counselor Success in Recovery - 4.0 Visalia, CA Job Details Full-time $20 - $21 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications House cleaning assistance Residential housekeeping Food service Facility management Working with youth Full Job Description The Youth Counselor will provide direct, continuous supervision, safety and protection of the youth living in the facility and may function as the facility manager in the absence of the Facility Supervisor. The Youth Counselor will work with other staff to implement and follow defined Needs and Services plans (Treatment Plans); will supervise the residents in prescribed chore assignments or may perform housekeeping chores including but not limited to laundry, food service, cleaning of residential spaces and grounds as long supervision of the youth is not interrupted. This position will transport and supervise youth during activities and other out of the facility outings such as various medical appointments, court appearances, shopping, recreational activities, etc.; supervise and assist youth with homework and other nonschool educational activities; instructs youth in self-maintenance and life skills; assists in acquiring needed medical, emotional, mental health services, performs timely and accurate documentation, according to protocol, in daily logs and observation logs; helps youth develop interpersonal relationship and communication skills; may perform minor first aid, may perform various minor household maintenance functions and/or reports safety issues to the Facility Supervisor or Administrator. In the absence of the Facility Supervisor, may be required to assume the role of the reasonable and prudent parent and apply appropriate standards to decisions involving the youth. The Youth Counselor shall actively demonstrate cultural competency and diversity sensitivity in all employment interactions as well as support the agency Vision and Mission Statements and exhibit the agency Core Values as designated.
