Job Description
•This is a position for youth ages 16-20.• Boulder County Public Health Department is seeking to hire 2 (two) Youth Opioid Overdose Prevention (YOOP) Youth Advisors . The Youth Opioid Overdose Prevention (YOOP) Youth Advisors will work collaboratively on a team with one other Youth Advisor and the Youth Naloxone Access Program Specialist . YOOP Youth Advisors deliver presentations on naloxone (Narcan) use to youth and community members, give feedback on current substance use issues and response to community needs, share overdose prevention information at community events, and create a youth friendly system for naloxone access in Boulder County. Additionally, Youth Advisors will participate in the Healthy Futures Youth Coalition (HFYC) and other youth focused programs and events. HFYC is a group of youth who work together to identify and solve problems related to mental health and substance use in Boulder County. Youth Advisors will regularly collaborate with Youth Advisors from other BCPH programs. There are 2 Youth Advisor positions open and they will start promptly. Availability this summer and during the 2026-2027 school year is required. Youth Advisors will work in a hybrid format (both virtually and in-person). In-person meetings may take place at three County building locations: Sundquist Building located at 3482 Broadway in Boulder, CO St. Vrain Community Hub located at 515 Coffman St. in Longmont, CO Southeast Community Hub located at 1755 S. Public Rd. in Lafayette, CO This is an hourly, non-benefited position that will work 5-10 hours per week, Monday•Thursday including some required evenings and weekends. This position requires availability over summer and after school and sometimes on weekends and evenings, including 4:30-6:00pm on Mondays and 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesdays (this is subject to change based on availability and need). Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).

Week of May 11th Facilitate Narcan (naloxone) and harm reduction trainings for youth and groups in the community Collaborate to adapt and deliver trainings and curriculum related to harm reduction and naloxone use Help increase naloxone access for youth Attend weekly meetings with the YOOP team Actively participate in the Healthy Futures Youth Coalition meetings Develop resources and participate in outreach and educational activities that support youth substance use prevention, harm reduction and mental health promotion Coordinate and collaborate with other Boulder County Youth Advisors, youth-oriented leadership groups, and community members Performs related work, as required May be reassigned during emergency situationsPLEASE NOTE

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of: Current enrollment in high school or GED program OR a recent high school/GED graduate (must be between 16-20 years of age at the time of hire)SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Youth Advisors are responsible for ensuring they can get to work, in-person meetings or events either via their own transportation or utilizing public transport•a bus pass is provided to Youth AdvisorsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
