Part-time SUMMARY:
The Youth Director will support the ministry and mission of
Our Savior's Lutheran Church:
People Connecting People with Jesus and Each Other . The position requires a deep and active faith, love for people and an understanding of Lutheran theology. The person holding this position must have a passion for working with youth and families. Creativity, enthusiasm and flexibility are needed. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
: Works under general guidance of the Lead Pastor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Guides and directs volunteers as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Middle and High School Youth a. Convene Youth Team to support youth activities. b. Plan and lead youth activities. c. Coordinate adult mentors for middle school youth. d. Plan and lead Confirmation classes for middle school youth. e. Register and lead youth on retreats, summer camp, summer trips and youth gatherings. f. Attend events youth are involved in (sporting events, band concerts, plays, etc.). 2. Worship a. Lead Faith Milestones throughout the year (such as Confirmation and Graduate Recognition). b. Encourage youth participation in worship services. 3. Administration a. Tell stories of youth ministry through social media, announcements, etc. b. Coordinate communication of all youth activities and events. c. Manage youth budget, supplies, equipment and spaces. d. Conduct background checks and training for adult volunteers. e. Participate in staff meetings. 4. Attend to self-care, protecting days off and participating in continuing education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with youth and families.
VACATION & CONTINUING EDUCATION
1 week of vacation including 1 Sunday, 1 week of continuing education including 1 Sunday.
