We work with adults, children, and families to increase communication and social skills, improve relationships, increase circles of support, and provide therapeutic services based on best-practice research. We believe that people can change, and we work to empower each individual in their own care. We are currently seeking a Youth Counselor to work in our Thomaston Group Home. Highly trained support staff are available 24/7 to assist residents with household management, activities of daily living, recreation and leisure planning, employment opportunities, and safety skills. The program prides itself on promoting personal growth, maximizing each individual's level of independence, and fostering community integration.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide direct care and supervision to youth in a residential group home setting during 3rd shift Support residents with activities of daily living, household routines, and personal care as needed Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment at all times Monitor residents overnight to ensure safety, security, and well-being Assist with de-escalation, crisis intervention, and behavior support as needed Document shift activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with program requirements Support youth in developing life skills, independence, and positive coping strategies Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure continuity of care Follow all agency policies, procedures, and mandated reporting requirements Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision

Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred Previous experience working with youth in a residential, group home, or behavioral health setting preferred Ability to support youth with activities of daily living, safety skills, and community integration Strong communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills Ability to work overnight (3rd shift), weekends, and holidays as required Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow program policies and procedures Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass required background checks, trainings, and certifications
Hourly Rate:
$20.00 per hour
