Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Youth Care Worker and become a vital advocate for children and adolescents in need of support, guidance, and positive development. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where young individuals can thrive emotionally, socially, and behaviorally. Duties Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in residential or community settings, ensuring their safety at all times Develop and implement individualized care plans that support behavioral health, emotional well-being, and social skills Engage youth through mentoring activities, educational support, and recreational programs to promote positive development Collaborate with families, teachers, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate care and address each child's unique needs Manage conflicts or behavioral issues using effective conflict management techniques while maintaining a calm and respectful environment Assist with daily routines such as meal preparation, hygiene support, transportation, and recreational activities Document observations, incidents, and progress notes accurately to ensure clear communication among team members Requirements Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities in educational, childcare, or social service settings is highly desirable Knowledge of special education practices and behavioral health principles to support diverse needs effectively Strong understanding of child welfare policies and social work methodologies to promote safe and supportive environments Excellent conflict management skills to de-escalate challenging situations with patience and professionalism Ability to teach life skills, promote positive behavior, and serve as a reliable mentor for youth Compassionate attitude combined with strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and families Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed to meet program requirements This role is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about fostering growth in young people.
