We are a historic community-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and families through education, enrichment, and community engagement, We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and caring individuals to serve as Youth Enrichment Counselors. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our summer programming by helping create a safe, fun, structured, and engaging environment for children in Kindergarten through 7th grade. Key Responsibilities Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants and peers Build and maintain positive relationships with youth through appropriate and engaging interactions Assist in planning and facilitating educational, recreational, and enrichment activities Maintain supervision, safety, and security of all youth participants Effectively resolve conflict using a calm, solution-focused approach Transport youth to field trips and activities while providing supervision and guidance Assist with set-up and clean-up of daily activities and program spaces Support meal and snack distribution while maintaining cleanliness standards Communicate significant incidents, observations, and program information verbally and in writing Participate in all required trainings, staff meetings, and special events Serve as a positive role model who reflects the mission and values of Willkie House Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED required Experience working with school-age children preferred Ability to pass a background check Ability to complete all state-mandated child care training (CPR, Mandatory Reporter, etc.) Ability to lift 20-30 pounds Commitment to working with families of diverse cultures and backgrounds Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Class D3 Chauffeur's License with insurable driving record preferred Compensation $15.00•$17.00 per hour , depending on experience Program Hours Summer programming operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM•6:00 PM Additional evening and weekend opportunities may be available periodically.
