Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Youth Minister who feels called to nurture young hearts in Christ and help us grow a Youth ministry that is joyful, inclusive, and rooted in love. This is a vital opportunity to shape a ministry from the ground up and to partner with us in building the next generation of faith.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and lead engaging, age-appropriate programming for youth (6th - 12th grade). Cultivate a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all youth and families which includes ensuring Safe Sanctuary policies are adhered to at all times. Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers from within the congregation Lead annual review of, and strategies for improvement of youth ministries Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers Seek creative ways to connect with youth in the surrounding community Develop and oversee Youth Ministry Budget including monthly reports to the pastor Collaborate with church leadership to align youth ministry with the church's mission and values
Qualifications:
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the United Methodist tradition Experience working with youth in a ministry setting (paid or volunteer) A heart for diversity, inclusion, and community outreach Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Completion (or willingness to complete) Youth Protection/Safe Sanctuaries training Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Successful completion of a criminal background check , including sex offender and child abuse registry screenings Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to grow a ministry with limited resources
