Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Youth Care Worker Supervisor to lead and support a team committed to the well-being and development of youth in care. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations within a youth residential setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Your leadership will empower staff to deliver exceptional care while maintaining compliance with all safety, behavioral health, and case management standards. Qualifications Individual who is at least twenty one years of age with the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual stability necessary to enhance direct support and trauma informed care for healthy development of adolescents. Minimum requirement of high school education with two years post high school work experience, one year experience in child care field; or two years of undergraduate study in Social Work, Social Services, Psychology, Education or related field Responsibilities 1 . Supervise and implement scheduled residential routines according to program schedule. 2 . Use TBRI Interventions and monitor levels of relational support needed through behavior responses to include levels of playful engagement, structured engagement, calming engagement and finally protective engagement when required. Always return to playful engagement responses after a emotional or behavioral crisis and let a problem event be "over" so a youth still feels connected 3. Assist with scheduled meal service; provide instruction in table etiquette. 4. Monitor youth with assigned kitchen duty; provide instruction in food handling, table etiquette, kitchen responsibilities, and cleanliness. 5. Prepare scheduled nutritional snacks. 6. Actively provide instruction and participate in routine chore performance; role model the importance of organization and cooperation. 7. Teach residents to wash, fold, and dry personal clothing; provide instruction in use of detergents, conservation of personal supplies and care of laundry facility. 8. Actively involve youth in general facility maintenance to encourage participation in caring for their environment; staff are ultimately responsible for facility appearance 9. Demonstrate and provide instruction in good personal hygiene, grooming, wardrobe management, basic domestic skills, and independent living skills. 10 .Demonstrate appropriate social, emotional, and physical behaviors to promote the development of positive environment and appropriate instruction in personal development; role model empathy, positive guidance, and sensitivity in resident care while holding them accountable. 11 .Actively participate in all youth activities; show enthusiasm and be engaged in their life. 12 .Serve as monitor for problem resolution in informal group meetings or mediator in resolving interpersonal conflicts; document appropriate information. 13 .Dispense scheduled prescription medication and maintain accurate records; follow standing medical orders as needed; complete medication count at shift change. 14. Administer instructed medical care and first aid procedures as necessary. 15. Provide transportation to medical, educational, and therapy appointments, scheduled activities, and approved individual youth needs. 16. Actively supervise scheduled study hour and provide tutorial assistance as needed. 17 .Attend weekly staff meetings; participate in treatment plan reviews and staff training in compliance with licensing guidelines and accreditation standards. 18 .Review individual youth charts; stay informed of individual developments and therapeutic treatment needs. Exhibit appropriate therapeutic intervention as dictated by Service Plan. 19 .Maintain accurate written records and documentation of individual progression; relay pertinent youth and organizational information at shift change; record appropriate information in staff communication log and individual charts. 20. Monitor and record daily youth behaviors in accordance with Behavior Management guidelines; inform Program Director of recurrent problems. 21 .Monitor and complete individual baseline measurements. 22. Complete weekly summaries as assigned. 23. Maintain confidentiality of youth information and records. 24. Conduct scheduled fire drills on rotating shifts; complete documentation. Inform Safety Specialist and Program Director of any problems or concerns. 25 .Orient new youth to program guidelines, responsibilities, therapeutic practices, facility schedule, policies, and expectations as assigned. 26. Make new youth feel welcome and actively help them adjust and make connections 27. Comply with organizational philosophy, policies, and therapeutic procedures. 28. Report problems to Shift Supervisor; coordinate with Supervisor before seeking administrative counsel on problem resolution. Report to YCW Supervisor 29 .Comply with therapeutic directives of Program Director; inform Program Director of unusual behavior or therapeutic problems immediately. 30 .Inform Program Director or designee of delinquent, runaway and violent behavior, medical emergencies, suicidal gestures, fire, and emergency situations immediately. 31.
