Adolescent/Child Therapist/Counselor (LPC or LMFT) Private Practice Shreveport, LA 71101 From $50 an hour - Full-time From $50 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a licensed and passionate LPC or LMFT to join our team; specifically with experience and training in working with adolescents and children. Play therapy certification is advantageous, but not necessary. You'll provide individual, couples, and family therapy in a well-equipped, centrally located office. As part of our group practice, you'll have the administrative burden significantly reduced--we handle insurance billing, credentialing, scheduling, furnished office, marketing support, and growing referral sources. You simply show up, see clients, and flourish in your profession.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. This role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapies within a clinical setting. The counselor will also collaborate with families, schools, and community agencies to support clients' mental health and behavioral needs, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, DBT, and systems-based psychotherapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure client safety. Utilize motivational interviewing to foster client engagement and motivation for change. Manage case documentation accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA standards. Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient assessment outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, and medical staff to coordinate care. Engage in clinical research activities to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling. Work with clients experiencing developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, or other behavioral health challenges. Engage in marketing efforts and referral relationships to grow caseload (with support provided) Collaborate with practice leadership and colleagues for case consultation and contribute to a culture of professional excellence. Participate in ongoing professional development related to mental health counseling, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding systems, and relevant clinical research. Requirements Valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Master's or higher in Counseling, MFT, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent. Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, behavioral management, and case management. Strong knowledge of mental health disorders including PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, addiction counseling, and pediatrics. Familiarity with medical documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance and CPT coding. Demonstrated competence in outpatient mental health treatment, strong skills in treatment planning, documentation, therapy modalities. Experience working with children and families in clinical or home/community settings preferred. Excellent communication skills for patient care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to perform clinical assessments using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-10/ICD-9
standards. Knowledge of special education processes and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous.
