Job Description

Job Overview As a faith-based Christian counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support to children, adolescents and their families, struggling with mental health and addiction. You will work with a team that will assist in navigating the complexities that commonly accompany family work. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of clients through therapeutic interventions and community support.
Responsibilities Core Therapeutic Duties Assessment & Treatment Planning:
Evaluating client needs through interviews and observations to formulate actionable, customized treatment plans.
Session Facilitation:
Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to help clients process emotions and build personal insight.
Crisis Intervention:
Managing immediate emotional challenges, ensuring client safety during emergencies, and offering therapeutic support.
Casework Management:
Maintaining accurate, confidential client records and preparing progress reports Diagnose emotional disorders, create specific recovery plans, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
Spiritual Integration:
Assess clients' spiritual needs and incorporate faith-based practices such as prayer, worship, and biblical teachings into the therapeutic process.
Relationship Reconciliation:
Guide clients toward resolving marital and familial conflicts while encouraging emotional and spiritual growth.
Professional Standards & Ethics Scope of Practice:
Operating within the boundaries of personal expertise and referring clients to psychologists or psychiatrists when necessary.
Ethical Obligations:
Strictly upholding legal and ethical privacy standards (e.g., confidentiality laws) and participating in ongoing education
  • Maintain CANS Certification
  • if applicable
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care, particularly in home and community settings
  • Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 coding and psychopharmacology in treatment planning Experience
  • Master's degree in Social Work/Psychology or related field
  • Experience with ABA or Theraputic Mentoring
  • Proficiency in areas such as family systems, child and adolsecent development
  • Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals on the autism spectrum
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding system and psychopharmacology applications
