Role:
The School Age Assistant Counselor plays a crucial role in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children during after-school programs. This position involves working closely with children aged 5 to 12, facilitating activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development. The Assistant Counselor will collaborate with lead counselors to implement educational and recreational programs that cater to the diverse needs of the children. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with parents and guardians to ensure a holistic approach to each child\'s well-being. Ultimately, the goal is to foster a positive atmosphere where children can thrive, learn, and build lasting friendships.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a group setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience in educational or recreational programming.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and implementing daily activities and programs for children.
  • Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide support and guidance to children in developing social skills and resolving conflicts.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child\'s progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all materials and equipment are safe and accessible.
