Job Description

Want to make a difference in the life of a child/teen? Thats what we do at the Key Program! Gain experience to jump start your career in the human service or social service fields. We are seeking a Residential Caseworker to work in Pittsfield, MA, in our residential group homes for children and teens who are involved with the Department of Children and Families.

The Key Program is currently seeking a full-time Residential Case Worker (Youth Counselor) to work with children and adolescents in their group homes located in Pittsfield, MA.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is preferred (i.e. Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, etc.), or An associate's degree or college coursework with one year of human service experience required, or A high school diploma or GED/HiSet with two (2) years of human service experience, required.

All candidates must be 21 years of age or older.

All candidates must have a valid state driver's license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use. Complete a comprehensive background check. All candidates must have the ability to work a varied and rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends and some holidays.
Responsibilities:
The Residential Caseworker (RCW) works collaboratively as part of the treatment team and is responsible for the welfare of clients in Keys residential programs. The RCW is directly responsible for the daily supervision of clients, the implementation of their individualized treatment plans, and the daily program activities and milieu. Due to the nature of the work and client needs, the RCW works a varied schedule that may exceed a forty-hour work week (full time).
Some duties include:
Engage clients and develop positive, appropriate, supportive relationships utilizing a strength-based treatment approachAssist clients with their routines and adhere to the programs daily schedule Assist clients in setting goals in accordance with their individualized treatment plans Assist the supervisory and clinical team with case management responsibilities for our children/youth and families. Implement proper supervision techniques to ensure clients are not a danger to themselves or others Establish rapport and keeps parents/families updated with client status Schedule and accompany clients to appointments Contribute in client-related meetings, case presentations, and suggest treatment recommendationsSupervise or assist clients with self-administration of medicationComplete case documentation in a thorough, professional, and timely manner.
