Teen Center Youth Development Assistant 65 Central Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240 From $17 an hour•Part-time From $17 an hour•
Part-time Teen Center Youth Development Assistant Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine Location:
Lewiston, ME Position Type:
Part-time Schedule:
School year hours: Monday•Friday 1:45p-6p and some Wednesdays 11:45-6.
Summer hours:
Monday•Fridays 12:00•6pm
Compensation:
 starting at $17.00 per hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Teen Center Youth Development Assistant to support the daily operations of our Teen Center. This role involves engaging with teens, facilitating activities, and creating a positive, inclusive, and safe environment where youth can develop confidence, leadership skills, and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with our teen members and serve as a mentor and role model. Plan and facilitate engaging activities focused on leadership, career development, academic success, and healthy lifestyles. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing Club policies and positive behavior expectations. Assist in organizing special events, guest speakers, and community service projects. Support teens in setting and achieving personal and academic goals. Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming and supportive space tailored to the needs of teens. Ensure the Teen Center is clean, organized, and well-maintained. Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and program reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, social work, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with youth in a recreational, educational, or community setting preferably with kids ages 12-18 Ability to work in fast paced and dynamic work environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Valid Driver's license with excellent record. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Why Join Us?
