Job Description

Interpersonal Coach Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at least an Associate's Degree in a Human Services related field or a high school diploma with at least one year of Human Service experience. Previous experience working with court-involved/at-risk youth preferred, particularly in group settings. Be responsible for implementing curricula, facilitating groups using defined curriculum, learn and then maintain appropriate training to teach curriculum and facilitation techniques Responsibilities of this position are broad and may include but are not limited to: Coaching and Counseling
  • Assist youth in developing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Encourage Say It Straight proficiency and building transferrable vocational skills.
  • Provide positive behavioral support, utilize the behavior system as trained and in a consistent manner.
  • Provide supportive counseling and therapeutic mentoring.
  • Help youth learn to apply new skills learned and apply skills across environments such as school, home, and work situations.
  • Assess and address any crisis/emergency situations with youth.
  • Ensure accountability and document progress on Individual Service Plan goals.
  • Link youth and their family to needed resources available in the community.
  • Help create and maintain a supportive environment for youth and families. Youth Supervision
  • Ensure close supervision of youth on work sites and off-site in the community, maintain safety standards and appropriate staff-client ratios for youth being served.
  • Proactively communicate with youth and other staff members.
  • Follow all procedures for on-site and off-site activities.
  • Provide transportation or assistance with transportation as needed.
  • Serve as a role model showing appropriate and expected behavior for youth and their families and serving as a professional employee at all times.
  • Give positive reinforcement and praise whenever possible to staff, youth, and families.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and build supportive and an affirming relationship with youth and others Community Relations
  • Build relationships with Community Partners, (DJJ, Schools, other nonprofits, job sites, etc.) to promote public knowledge about the program and gain referrals as well as help place youth served. Agency Representation and Program Support
  • Attend supervision meetings, general staff meetings, and JJTC meetings as applicable.
  • Attend regular supervision meetings with the District Leader and her/his designee.
  • Assist in ongoing development and refinement of Aspire programs.
  • Communicate concerns, problems, or strengths of the program to the Aspire District Leader, Executive Director, or their designee. Additional Duties
  • Complete required daily documentation within allotted and specified timelines. This includes intakes, notes, referral source updates, court reports, incident reports, attendance, etc.
  • Complete and actively participate in all necessary training and professional development.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
