Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Health Futures Facilitator is a seasonal, part-time positions (12-15 hours per week) that is responsible to deliver engaging, evidence-informed substance use prevention programming to elementary-aged youth at YMCA summer day camps throughout Hamilton County. Facilitators will travel to multiple YMCA sites to lead interactive lessons that build self-esteem, emotional awareness, communication, and decision-making skills. The facilitator creates a positive, energetic learning environment while delivering specialty enrichment curriculum designed to help youth develop confident, healthy futures through strong relationships and skill-building experiences. Pay is weekly - $350 per week for 10 weeks of programming. Must be available for at least 8 out of the 10 weeks beginning Monday, June 1st and ending Friday, August 7th. Programming runs M-F between the hours of 9a-5p; direct instruction and service will occur at selected times during the work-week scheduled in partnership with leadership and employee availability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follows the YMCA of the USA teaching guidelines. 2. Teach the fundamentals of Healthy Futures/prevention while following all safety procedures and protocols. 3. Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate those objectives to participants. 4. Monitor participants' performance in Healthy Futures/prevention area to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure knowledge of course standards & objectives. 5. Adhere to established association standards. 6. This job description may not be all inclusive and employees are expected to perform all other duties as necessary or assigned/directed by management. QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of 18 years of age. 2. High School diploma or its equivalent and Bachelors' Degree or pursuant of Elementary Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Public Health preferred. 3. Must have reliable transportation/ability to travel to and work at various sites throughout Hamilton County. 4. Must demonstrate the ability to teach a safe and effective class. 5. Possess current CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certifications and complete all YMCA trainings. 6. Must have a positive attitude and ability to work independently while conducting, demonstrating and safely leading a classroom of adults and or children. 7. YMCA Child Abuse Prevention training completed.
