Position Type:

Compensation:
Competitive, based on experience ($23.00 to $28.00) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Manager of Self-Determination Services with expertise in Adaptive Skills Training (AST) to support a young child and family in the Pasadena area. This role combines assessment, program development, direct instruction, caregiver collaboration, and progress monitoring, with a focus on creating meaningful, measurable outcomes through SMART goals .
Current assignment:
Provide family-centered Adaptive Skills Training support for a 5-year-old child through Self-Determination services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive Adaptive Skills Training (AST) assessments .
  • Develop individualized, developmentally appropriate SMART goals .
  • Provide direct, hands-on instruction to support skill acquisition.
  • Collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to ensure family-centered, person-driven services.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies that build communication skills, daily living/adaptive skills, and social-emotional development.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting goals and interventions as needed.
  • Ensure services align with California DDS and Self-Determination Program guidelines.
  • Provide caregiver coaching and guidance as appropriate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree required in psychology, special education, child development, behavioral sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young children; early childhood experience is preferred.
  • Strong background in Adaptive Skills Training, individualized assessment, goal development, direct instruction, and behavioral or developmental interventions.
  • Familiarity with Self-Determination services and person-centered planning is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and family-partnership skills. Additional Consideration
