Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee. JOB TITLE
Crisis Counselor (Child & Youth)
JOB SUMMARY
Provide face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention services in the least restrictive manner to people experiencing a mental health emergency.
SCHEDULES AVAILABLE
Wednesday - Saturday, 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct crisis assessment and crisis intervention services to appropriately address the needs of consumers experiencing a psychiatric emergency. 2. Clinically assess for the least restrictive alternative to meet the needs of the consumers experiencing a psychiatric emergency. 3. When hospitalization is necessary, make appropriate referrals to facilities equipped to meet needs of the consumers. 4. Make appropriate referrals to Diversion Services to ensure they have necessary clinical information. 5. Actively participate in consult process with supervisory staff when dispositioning cares. 6. Provide follow-up services as indicated in the policies and procedures and as set forth in Title 33. 7. Develop individualized plans to meet needs of consumers in crisis. 8. Respond to requests for face-to-face assessment in a timely manner. 9. Maintain appropriate customer service skills at all times. 10. Assist Triage Counselors in answering and dispositioning incoming calls as needed. 11. Provide telephone counseling when needed. 12. Maintain accurate clinical records and complete documentation within departmental guidelines. 13. Coordinate services as needed with care management teams and provide consultation, as needed, with care management teams. 14. Assist community agencies with information and/or dispositions. 15. Educate community agencies as needed on crisis services as directed by supervisory staff. 16. Assist teammates as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
