  • 3:00 PM Job Overview Kolob Canyon RTC is a residential treatment center for teenage girls ages 14-17 located in Southern Utah.
As a smaller program serving approximately 12-16 students, we are able to create a close-knit community where staff build meaningful relationships and make a direct impact in each student's life. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Youth Mentors. This role is ideal for those interested in psychology, social work, counseling, education, behavioral health, or youth development and who want hands-on experience working with adolescents in a therapeutic environment. As a Youth Mentor, you will help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment while guiding students through daily routines, emotional challenges, skill development, and personal growth. Mentors play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, improve communication, and make positive life choices. Mentors may participate in:
Hiking and outdoor recreation Camping trips and community activities Movie nights and recreational groups Barn responsibilities and equine-related activities Cooking and sharing meals together as a community Supporting students through structured daily routines and therapeutic activities Responsibilities Build professional and supportive relationships with students Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and daily life skills Provide supervision and guidance throughout the day Encourage accountability, growth, and healthy decision-making Assist with daily routines, chores, meals, activities, and transportation Work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, leadership, and other staff members Model healthy boundaries, professionalism, and teamwork What We're Looking For The staff who thrive in this role are individuals who: Balance compassion with healthy boundaries Remain calm and solution-focused during difficult moments Work well as part of a team Are dependable, self-aware, and eager to learn Communicate respectfully and professionally Have the ability to adapt, stay engaged, and support youth through challenges Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old Must be able to pass a background check Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred Experience working with youth or in behavioral health is helpful but not required Why Join Kolob Canyon?
