Job Description

We are looking for Youth Workers to join our team and provide guidance and support to the residents in our facility. The successful candidates will have experience working with children and adolescents, and will be able to create a safe and supportive environment for them. The Resident Care Coordinators will be responsible for providing educational activities, mentoring, and helping the residents develop life skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
The primary caregivers of the residents provide supervision, positive role modeling, and nurturing to youth. Coordinate and lead activities to enhance the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and relational well being of youth. Ensure that youth adhere to their structured daily schedules and house rules; provide positive reinforcement to youth. Assist youth in achieving the goals that the service plan entails; evaluate and document youth behaviors on a daily basis; and other duties as assigned including house chores. Youth Workers report directly to the Group Home Manager. Youth Workers possess the following qualifications: Strong skills in oral and written communication. Relationship building. Attention to detail, documentation, staff supervision, and child development. Experience working in a formal program with the type of resident population served by the home; certification as a child and youth care worker under the Wisconsin Association of Child and Youth Care Professionals or other department-recognized certifying authority; and completion of a traineeship program in which the resident care staff has worked with qualified, experienced resident care staff for at least the first 80 hours of employment and received the required orientation training before working with residents.
