POSITION
:
Social Studies Teacher SCHOOL:
High School Responsibilities will include: Teach high school social studies courses in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut standards Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote historical thinking, civic engagement, inquiry, analysis, and effective communication skills Utilize primary and secondary sources, discussion, writing, and project-based learning to deepen student understanding of historical and contemporary issues Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that values diverse perspectives and civil discourse
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Connecticut Certification:
026 History and Social Studies (Grades 7-12) required or NY equivalent to work toward certification reciprocity. Strong knowledge of secondary social studies curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices Knowledge of civics, history, geography, economics, and inquiry-based instructional practices Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered learning environment
