Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding short-term opportunity supporting students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming in a vibrant educational environment. As a School Social Worker, you'll provide critical social and emotional guidance across two campus locations: McMurray and Waynesburg. This is a contract role running from June 18 to July 17, 2026, with a compact, focused schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, subject to adjustment). Influence and empower a caseload of 12 students, working onsite and collaborating closely with educators during inservice and throughout ESY.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a current Pennsylvania School Social Worker Certificate Professional experience as a Social Worker in a school setting preferred Strong skills in assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy for K-12 populations Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, families, and multidisciplinary teams Comfortable with multi-site work (McMurray and Waynesburg) and managing a modest caseload Excellent communication, organization, and caseload management skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and behavioral supports to students in ESY programs Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual needs Consult with teachers and families to promote student well-being and success Participate in team meetings, coordinate care, and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) Maintain documentation complying with school and district policies This contract position offers a unique chance to enhance your impact in a supportive, student-centered setting while gaining valuable experience during the summer session.
