Software Engineer 2 - Embedded C++ Engineer
Location:
Onsite - Mossville, IL
Experience:
5+ Years Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong C++ development skills to support the design, development, and troubleshooting of embedded systems for large automotive and off-highway machinery platforms. The ideal candidate should understand end-to-end software flow, system interactions, and root cause analysis within ECM-controlled environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications using C++ Work on ECM-related software development and troubleshooting activities Analyze and resolve software integration and performance issues Collaborate with systems, validation, and hardware teams to support end-to-end feature development Participate in debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution in embedded environments Support software integration activities for vehicle or machinery control systems Contribute to software quality, reliability, and safety-focused development practices Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in embedded software development Strong programming experience in C++ (C experience is acceptable if willing to transition into C++) Experience working with embedded systems and real-time applications Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills Understanding of software architecture and end-to-end system flow Experience with ECMs, control modules, or automotive embedded platforms Ability to work onsite in a collaborative engineering environment Preferred Qualifications Background in functional safety or safety-critical systems Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or large machinery industries Familiarity with CAN communication, diagnostics, or embedded control systems
