Software Engineer - Traffic, Frameworks (ASE)

Minimum Qualifications 2+YOE Understanding of concurrency and multi-threaded concepts General knowledge about memory management and its impacts on library/application development General knowledge of large scale distributed systems Experience in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking Bachelor's in CS or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Collaborative approach, working to make the team better A growth mindset Developed API design and evolution through the lifetime of a library Passionate about improving the team and partners you work with Professional expertise in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking Experience with async RPC libraries such as Netty, ServiceTalk, Finagle, VertX, Spring Reactor, gRPC, etc. Proficient with networking and inter-process communication. Systems programming experience Understanding of popular networking protocols such as (but not limited to) HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2, and HTTP/3 is desirable. Deep knowledge of memory models and runtime performance characteristics Understanding of how to do runtime performance analysis and make corresponding improvements Professional experience partnering with application and library developers to write developer-friendly, high-performance library code Passionate about enabling internal partner teams Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
