Experience Required:
1+ years of solar installation or electrical experience Position Overview Affordable Solar is seeking an experienced Solar Electrical Apprentice to join our residential installation team as a 1099 contractor. This is not an entry-level role; we are looking for someone who already has hands-on experience with solar installations, knows how to safely navigate a roof, and understands fundamental electrical wiring. In this role, you will work alongside experienced electricians to execute installations efficiently while continuing to build your electrical skills and log apprentice hours in the growing renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities Install solar panels, racking, and mounting hardware on various residential roof types. Run conduit, pull wire, and assist with basic electrical connections from solar arrays to inverters. Assist experienced electricians and Journeymen with main electrical panel tie-ins and system commissioning. Install and configure monitoring systems and electrical safety equipment. Read and interpret basic electrical schematics and solar design plans. Perform routine maintenance, system inspections, and basic troubleshooting for inverters and connectivity issues. Comply with local electrical codes, NEC standards, and safety guidelines at all times. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used. Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members on site. Required Qualifications 1+ years of hands-on experience in residential solar installation and/or electrical work. Active Electrical Apprentice registration (or ability to register immediately). Strong familiarity with solar racking systems, AC/DC wiring basics, and standard hand/power tools. Physical ability to work on rooftops, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and work in various weather conditions. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and basic personal hand tools. Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to assisting lead installers. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years in construction, roofing, or electrical trades. Progress toward Journeyman electrical license. Exposure to troubleshooting microinverters and string inverters. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish).

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work as needed.
