Job Description
Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Delivery Design and architect technical solutions that address complex business challenges across drilling, completions, production, and facilities operations Translate operational requirements into production-ready applications and systems Deliver rapid project implementations (typical timeline: 3-6 months from inception to deployment) Work across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure comprehensive solution delivery User Engagement & Support Collaborate directly with field operations, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements Conduct field visits to observe workflows and identify improvement opportunities Provide technical support and training to end users Gather feedback and iterate on solutions to ensure user adoption and satisfaction Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Data Science, Software and Hardware Engineering, and Data Engineering teams on integrated solutions Coordinate with IT infrastructure, security, and platform teams for solution deployment Share knowledge and best practices across the Solutions Engineering organization Innovation & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technical innovation Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and tools that enhance solution capabilities Contribute to technical standards, frameworks, and reusable components
- Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related technical field Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred but not required with equivalent experience Experience (Preferred) 0-2 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or technical solutions delivery Ability to deliver end-to-end technical projects Experience working directly with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions Track record of rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies and domains Oil & Gas Industry Knowledge (Preferred) Understanding of upstream oil and gas operations (drilling, completions, production, facilities) Familiarity with industry-specific applications and data systems Experience with operational workflows and field processes•Preferred Qualifications Advanced Technical Skills Machine learning and data science fundamentals Experience with distributed systems and real-time data processing Domain Expertise Experience with SCADA systems, IoT devices, or industrial automation Knowledge of geoscience, reservoir engineering, or production optimization Familiarity with regulatory compliance and environmental reporting Professional Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Self-motivated with strong initiative and ownership mindset•Key Competencies Technical Versatility Ability to work across engineering and solutions architecture Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical requirements Business Acumen Understanding of how technology drives business value and operational efficiency Ability to balance technical ideals with practical business constraints Focus on user adoption and measurable business outcomes Collaboration & Communication Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills Execution Excellence Track record of delivering high-quality solutions on aggressive timelines Attention to detail in code quality, testing, and documentation Commitment to operational excellence and production reliability•Work Environment & Travel Primary location: Houston, TX (with potential for other EOG office locations) Field visits required to division locations across the United States Travel requirement: 10-25% depending on project assignments Participation in on-call rotation for production support as needed Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
