Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in the North Austin area. This full-time, contract position offers a welcoming, collaborative environment and the flexibility to work with either elementary or secondary students, depending on your preference. Enjoy a weekly schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a manageable caseload of approximately 25 to 30 students.
Qualifications:
Valid Texas Educator License with EC-12 Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements Experience participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings Comfortable contributing to and attending ARD meetings as an integral team member Adherence to professional community dress code (no visible tattoos, single-color hair, professional attire, limited earrings) Strong communication and organizational skillsKey Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs Support student learning in inclusive and resource settings Monitor progress, update goals, and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families Attend and actively contribute to ARD meetings Foster a positive, inclusive educational environment Enjoy comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, access to a 401(k) plan through Principal Financial, and a competitive hourly pay rate between $38 and $43, based on experience.
