Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners in a therapeutic elementary school setting as a Special Education Teacher for a short-term contract. This opportunity offers the chance to make a direct impact in a small, supportive classroom dedicated to students' social and emotional development, rather than a traditional academic focus. You'll be collaborating with a paraprofessional and working with just three elementary-aged students, providing individualized support and continuity during a medical leave absence starting August 3rd. While the duration is still to be confirmed, the possibility exists for a longer-term engagement.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification or eligibility Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education or therapeutic environment preferred Strong collaboration and co-teaching skills, comfortable working closely with a classroom para Compassionate and adaptable, adept at fostering emotional growth and stability for students with diverse learning and regulatory needs Effective communication and record-keeping abilitiesRole Duties:
Guide and facilitate the classroom environment with the support of a paraprofessional Prioritize social, emotional, and behavioral development in daily instruction and routines Implement existing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate with support staff as needed Maintain a safe, positive, and responsive classroom culture for all learners Support students in daily activities, transitions, and therapeutic programmingBenefits:
