Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Shape the future of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in the North Denver area. Multiple full-time contract positions are available for licensed professionals to support elementary students in dedicated center-based programs. Opportunities are open at Centennial Elementary (Affective Needs program), Westview Elementary (Structured Learning Services), and Eagleview Elementary (Structured Learning Services).
Key Qualifications:
Valid and current Colorado Department of Education Special Education Teacher certification Direct experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings Strong understanding of affective needs and/or structured learning services within center-based programs Effective classroom management and positive behavioral support skills Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and colleagues Flexibility to work onsite in a collaborative school environment
Core Responsibilities:
Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) customized to meet each student's needs Teach and support students within affective needs or structured learning settings, focusing on social, emotional, and academic development Partner with support staff and related service providers to facilitate a holistic educational experience Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings with families and staff Collect and evaluate data to inform educational decisions and adjust strategies Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning This full-time contract role (35+ hours/week) runs August 11, 2026, through May 20, 2027.
