Send job Job Details Job DescriptionJob Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful impact every day as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive K-2 setting dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of students. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 31, 2026 through June 4, 2027, featuring a structured Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You'll teach in a center-based classroom for young learners with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working with a small group of approximately six students. Paraprofessional support and a collaborative atmosphere help create a positive and resource-rich environment for both students and staff.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License Preferred areas: ASD, DCD, ABS, or cross-categorical SPED licensure Strong background supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities Skilled in writing and implementing IEPs, collecting progress data, and using individualized interventions Proficient with behavioral support, classroom structure, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families Prior experience in center-based autism classrooms, knowledge of AAC, sensory regulation techniques, or functional skills instruction is especially valued
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized academic, behavioral, and functional support to meet individual student needs Design, implement, and monitor IEP goals and interventions Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Use effective behavioral and instructional strategies for high-needs students Regularly gather and analyze student progress data Step into a rewarding position where you can make a difference in a high-needs classroom with a small student-to-teacher ratio and strong team support.
