Qualifications:
Certification as an elementary and/or secondary teacher, meeting the requirement listed in the Louisiana Standards for State certificate of school personnel, Bulletin 746, Part III, IV, VII, IX, and X. Minimum requirements as stated in SDE Bulletin 746 (as revised) Qualifications should not be established for the individual, but rather for the position. Additional criteria as the board may require

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DOMAIN 1:
PLANNING AND PREPARATION

SETTING INSTRUCTIONAL OUTCOMES
  • The teacher outcomes represent high expectations and rigor.
  • The teacher outcomes are written in terms of what student(s) will learn rather than do.
  • The teacher outcomes represent a range of outcomes across developmental domains.
  • The teacher outcomes are suitable for student(s) in the class and are differentiated when necessary.
  • The IEPs (Individual Education Plans) are accurate and completed within timeline

  • The teacher procedures for transitions seem to have been established, but their operation is rough.

  • Refrains from revealing confidential information.
  • Uses proper administrative procedures for making requests and resolving conflicts. 3. The teacher performs English as a Second Language specific duties
  • Administers evaluative measures to diagnose English proficiency of LEP (Limited English Proficient) students.
  • Assists designated teachers in the classroom with ESL instructional practice, management techniques and program guidelines.
  • Performs individual and small group tutoring.
  • Assists the supervisor of ESL program in securing instructional materials and equipment for classroom use.
  • Keeps an accurate updated list of Limited Proficient (LEP) students in need of services.
  • Domain VI denotes non-instructional indicators.
Deficiencies in these areas shall not be subject to a plan of intensive assistance.
METHOD OF EVALUATION
The combination of the applicable measure of growth in student learning and the qualitative assessment of performance competencies and standards shall result in a composite score used to distinguish levels of overall effectiveness.
