Immediately Job Description Old Rochester Regional School District/ MA Superintendency Union #55 is seeking a passionate and innovative moderate disabilities special education teacher for Center School in Mattapoisett, MA. This position will entail responsibilities for day-to-day management of the assigned classes, provision of instruction and supervision of classroom staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior and achievement, which includes working with support staff when needed.
  • Collaboration with related service providers.
  • Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students' needs.
  • Employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
  • Writing and implementing student IEPs.
  • Conducting achievement testing and writing corresponding reports.
  • Attending IEP meetings.
  • Tracking progress and quarterly reports in regards to IEP goals and achievement.
  • Ongoing parental contact.
