Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher serving pre-school aged students in an adaptive classroom setting. This contract position offers approximately 20 hours per week (49% FTE) and is available for immediate placement on-site near Buena Vista, GA. Your expertise will support early intervention, tailored instruction, and a nurturing environment for children with diverse needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification for pre-school/early childhood. Previous experience working in a pre-school or adaptive classroom strongly preferred. Solid understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring. Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and fellow educators. Ability to adapt lessons and activities to a wide range of learning styles and abilities. Dedication to fostering inclusion and supporting social-emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and adaptive learning experiences for pre-school students with varying levels of need. Implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs). Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and administration to maximize student success. Facilitate family communication to support student development at home and in the classroom. Collect and report data to inform instruction and meet compliance standards. Foster an engaging, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
