Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference for students as a Special Education Teacher supporting EC-6 resource math in the South Austin area for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers a structured schedule, a supportive work environment, and the chance to contribute to the growth of learners with diverse educational needs. Your day will run from 7:45 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, teaching resource math to a group of approximately 30 students across kindergarten through sixth grade. Your expertise in special education will be especially valued—especially your ability to meaningfully participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and contribute to student planning alongside colleagues and families.

Key Qualifications:

Active Texas Educator License with EC-6 Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements required Proven experience with ARD meetings and related documentation Familiarity with writing, implementing, and tracking Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Commitment to upholding the dress code: no visible tattoos, natural/single hair colors, professional attire, and limited earrings/piercings

What You'll Do:

Teach and support resource math for students in grades EC-6 Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse students' needs Work collaboratively with general and special education colleagues Attend, participate, and contribute in ARD meetings Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment Maintain accurate records and progress notes as required
