Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract role serving high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This opportunity offers a supportive environment where your skills can make a transformative impact during a critical period of students' academic journeys. Multiple positions are available due to ongoing pre-registration, with start and end dates aligned to the school calendar.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid certification to teach Special Education for high school students Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families Experience adapting curriculum and instruction based on individual needs Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Participate in IEP meetings, typically held before or after official school hours Manage a caseload (specific assignments will be determined pending final registration) Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring for student goals Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices Foster a safe and encouraging classroom environment that promotes growth and independence
Position Details:
Contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 25, 2027 Serve high school age learners during the 4-day academic week (7:30am - 3:30pm) Active participation in IEP procedures outside standard hours required Working with students in this capacity encourages professional growth and provides meaningful opportunities to positively impact lives.
