Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic environment where your passion for teaching and dedication to student success are highly valued. As a Special Education Teacher working with K-3rd grade students, you'll inspire young learners through engaging instruction and individualized support during the entire school year. This full-time, contract position places you at the forefront of making a meaningful impact, working alongside a supportive staff and collaborating closely with families and specialists.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) Previous experience instructing K-3rd grade students, particularly those with diverse learning needs Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Proficiency in differentiating instruction and managing classroom behaviors Strong communication and collaboration skills, working with parents, caregivers, and multi-disciplinary teams Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet IEP goals tailored to each student's unique needs Provide direct instruction and interventions for students in both individual and small group settings Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for students in the K-3rd grade range Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings Coordinate effectively with support staff, administration, and related service providers Encourage active parent and family involvement in the education process
