Contract:

2025-2026 school year | 38-40 hrs/week | Follows school calendar Competitive weekly pay: Up to $2,092.50 per week .

What You'll Do:

Teach and support students with diverse learning needs in a structured and caring environment. Develop and implement IEPs and engaging, adaptive lesson plans. Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support professionals. Maintain compliance and documentation with care and attention to detail. Create a positive classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in relation to Special Education from an accredited college or university. Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 Endorsement (LBS1). Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education. At least one year of teaching experience with students with a variety of disabilities, including students with behavior disorders and other learning and cognitive delays, preferred. Must possess strong communication and organizational skills. Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
