Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year! Make a positive impact working with dedicated middle school students in a supportive, collaborative educational environment. This assignment offers consistent hours—32-37.5 per week—Monday through Friday, giving you a balanced work week and the chance to foster real growth in your students from August through June.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field Active state Special Education Teacher certification Previous experience or student teaching in a middle school setting preferred Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Patience, empathy, and genuine passion for supporting diverse learners
Core Responsibilities:
Instruct and support middle school students with a range of learning differences, tailoring instruction to individual needs Participate in creating, reviewing, and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and specialists Maintain clear, thorough documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders Adapt curriculum and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications Engage in professional development and school-based meetings as needed What's in
