Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher within a collaborative school setting. This contract opportunity focuses on providing adaptive educational services to pre-school students, ensuring they receive the individualized attention and support they need to thrive. The position is part-time at approximately 49% FTE, averaging around 20 on-site hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with pre-school or early childhood exceptional learners preferred Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with a range of learning differences Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and specialists Patient, adaptive, and creative teaching style
Responsibilities:
Provide direct adaptive instruction to pre-school students in a special education classroom Develop and tailor lesson plans that accommodate individual learning goals Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, integrated support Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and team planning sessions Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and regulatory requirements Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where each child feels valued and understood This is an on-site only position, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young children while being part of a dedicated educational community.
